Digital Project Manager


Note: This position is a 12-month maternity leave replacement as a Banfielder goes off to add one more to the BanFam.


Looking for a dynamic, proactive and detail-oriented project manager with strong technical knowledge and understanding of web and digital products. You would be responsible for scoping projects, business development, liaising between accounts, creative/strategy and production to ensure digital projects stay on time/budget, and also managing relationships with digital partners.

What you would do

  • Manage expectations of the development team’s scope of work and duties
  • Manage the development team’s daily deliverables and milestones
  • Manage team in developing each project, identifying risk items that require action to resolve the issues
  • Monitor, report and manage downtime of digital team
  • Liaise with client services and production and maintain an active list of future workload
  • Educate client services team on development of scope, budgets and schedules for digital projects
  • Regularly meet with heads of client services and creative on the performance of the digital team and status of projects
  • Communicate issues with leadership team
  • Participate in client meetings (business development pitches and project briefings)
  • Manage client expectations with respect to project deliverables
  • Critique proposed creative and design for feasibility and optimal effectiveness in digital landscapes
  • Critique proposed architecture and wireframe outlines of digital projects for submission to client and to provide a framework for design
  • Manage external contractors and resources for the digital department
  • Evaluate and approve workflow process for digital development projects
  • Work with Operations Manager on process issues (e.g. file naming, backups, version control, software usage/updates, etc.)
  • Develop, monitor and enforce digital QC process
  • Actively pursue and initiate creative ideas towards development of new business
  • Prepare effective proposals for digital client requirements, including: Summarizing an understanding of the project in rough draft or verbal form, needs analysis, strategies, cost estimates
  • Create templates and review functional and technical specification documents of digital projects
  • Be the conduit for best practices, training and skills development for the digital team and entire company
  • Advise on preparation of written documentation of the agency’s significant digital work (case studies) for proposals, self-promotion, and award submissions


What you would bring


  • 5-7 years’ project management experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Experience working with developers
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of HTML5, Wordpress, email marketing service providers
  • A desire to identify and help implement innovative or cutting-edge digital solutions for our clients
  • Experience with digital QC
  • Strong interpersonal skills
